September 24 is National Punctuation Day. Here are a few punctuation tips
- Use apostrophes for possessive, not plurals - Right: Two cars, Bob's car / Wrong: Two car’s, Bobs car
- Apostrophe exception – It’s: use it as a short version of “it is” not as a possessive - Right: It’s time to go. Its owner is there. / Wrong: Its time to go. It’s owner is there.
- Sentence ending punctuation go inside quotation marks when using them - Right: “Look, he’s over there!” / Wrong: “Look, he’s over there”!
