World Teachers’ Day

October 5 is World Teachers’ Day, a day in which we recognize and celebrate teachers and their important role in society.

World Teachers’ Day was founded in 1994. Now an annual event, it profiles the work of over 55-million teachers around the world, including approximately 2,300 Catholic elementary and secondary teachers who serve in our Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic schools.

Our Catholic teachers not only provide high quality education to the 29,000 students in our Catholic school system, but through their goodness and Christian example, nurture hope and witness to God’s love in our world.

Thank you, Catholic Teachers, for serving as “powerful witnesses of Jesus and for providing the good soil each school day for the roots of faith to grow in our system.”
